Using Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or any Alexa-enabled device allows you to turn your fan and luminaire on and off independently, change fan speeds, and dim the lights using voice commands. Just say “Alexa, set living room light to 10%,” or “Alexa, increase kitchen fan speed” to control your fan.
With customized skills, we can roll out new functionality so your smart fan experience is always cutting-edge. Under the “Skills” menu, select “Modern Forms” and then select “Enable.”
Integrating with Google Assistant allows you to perform all the same functions that you would with Alexa, but with different commands. Try saying “Ok Google, turn on bedroom fan” or “Ok Google, turn off living room light.”
If you own a smart thermostat system such as ecobee, pairing it with your Modern Forms Smart Fan can help reduce energy costs. Your smart fan will automatically switch to Summer or Winter Mode when your HVAC changes from cooling to heating.
Selecting “Assist Mode” will allow your fan to automatically turn on and/or off depending on your HVAC status, making you less dependent on heating or air conditioning. “Light Mode” will turn your fan on for five minutes after HVAC has turned off. “Heavy Mode” will turn your fan on when HVAC engages, and then turn your fan off five minutes after HVAC has turned off.
We are constantly researching and developing new ways in which our fans can work with smart home technologies, and we will announce new features and integrations as they become available so that you can stay on the cutting-edge of smart home integration.
Stay tuned for updates on our exclusive Modern Forms app.
